On October 25th, Shanghai University of Political Science and Law and China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Mechanical and Electrical Products jointly held the Uzbekistan Investment Law Symposium in Beijing. Shi Yonghong,Vice President of the Chamber of Mechanical and Electrical Affairs and Mr.Kanyazov, Deputy Minister of Justice of Uzbekistan and President of the National Law University of Tashkent co-chaired the forum for the Vice Ministers of the Ministry of Justice and the Chinese Enterprises. Sheng Guofei, director of the Investment Promotion Department of the Chamber of Electrical and mechanical goods, and Jiang Siyuan, director of the cooperation department of CNISCO attended the symposium.
At the symposium, Shi Yonghong introduced the cooperation between Uzbekistan and China in trade, engineering contracting and investment. Khanazov introduced the adjustment of Uzbekistan’s domestic laws since the new president took office, especially the significant modifications in laws and regulations on attracting investment, simplifying the procedures for setting up branches or representative offices in Uzbekistan and encouraging the introduction of public-private partnership laws. The new policies and measures will be exchanged with the participating enterprises one by one. For those issues that need to be resolved through systemic legislation, they will report to the Ukrainian cabinet in time to further improve the Ukrainian domestic business environment and enhance the attractiveness of foreign investment.
The participating enterprises all said that the symposium was very pragmatic and provided useful information for the future development of the business.
