On the afternoon of May 8, the Expert Consultation Meeting on Project Implementation of the CNISCO Regional and Country Studies Project in 2020, the Teaching Course Construction Project, and the Teaching Reform Research Project was held inCNISCO. Before the meeting, President Liu Xiaohong met and discussed with experts from Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Fudan University, Tongji University, Shanghai International Studies University, and Beijing Language and Culture University.
Liu Xiaohong, on behalf of SHUPL, extended a warm welcome and sincere appreciation for the coming of the expert group. She said that at the 18th SCO Qingdao Summit in 2018, President Xi Jinping proclaimed that China would use platforms such as China National Institute for SCO International Exchange and Judicial Cooperation to train 2,000 law enforcement officers for all parties in the next three years to enhance law enforcement. This year, the second year after President Xi’s “Qingdao speech”, marks a critical period for carrying out the training work,which can not be carried out normally due to the impact of the novel coronavirus epidemic. CNISCO hopes to utilize this“window period” to actively develop connotation construction, improve the level of training services, and shift thework focus of the first half year to regional and country studies, top-quality courses construction and teaching reform research, so as to better carry out the fundamental work for domestic and foreign training projects.
Wang Wei, Director of the “Belt and Road” Security Research Institute of the CNISCO, put forward that the epidemic situation may wreak havoc on international relations in the future. As an important exchange platform within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, CNISCO should plan ahead and think deeply about how to better exert its international influence in the future and show its function as an international high-end think tank. At the same time, CNISCO should continue to make efforts in the training of judicial and law enforcement personnel for SCO countries under the guidance of various ministries and departments of China and relevant units in Shanghai, playing an important role in building a community with a shared future for mankind.
After the discussion, the expert panel conducted project consideration work at the Meeting 112, CNISCO complex building.
